I’ve always loved watercolor, but I never imagined how much I’d love teaching it! It all started when a hurricane kept our cruise ship at sea for three extra days. I pulled out my watercolors, gathered a few new friends I’d made, and started showing them how to paint. What began as a fun way to pass the time turned into a wonderful discovery: I had a knack for teaching!

I realized I could recognize where beginners were struggling, explain things in a way that made sense, and help them create paintings they were genuinely proud of. And I loved every minute of it!

Now I get to combine two of my favorite things — watercolor and cruising — while sharing the fun of painting with others, both on land and at sea.

I’ve played with many art mediums, and watercolor is my favorite.
